JP Boyd on Family Law is indebted to the many contributors who've participated over the years. In 2020 John-Paul Boyd resumed duties as the lead author and editor, but chapters have been tended to by a host of dedicated subject editors over the various editions. Particular thanks is owed to Megan Ellis QC who served as senior editor for many years, and who recruited most of the names below. Before 2020, the editing of JP Boyd on Family Law chapters was done by pairs of subject editors and was influenced by editors emeriti (members of the judiciary and legal academia) who were asked to provide general overview and guidance.

  • Subject Editors tended to work in pairs to ensure a specific chapter was up-to-date. Cross-mentorship was encouraged between subject editors, as the more junior subject editor was generally more comfortable with the technological aspects of updating content on the wiki, while senior ones tended to have more knowledge about the law.
  • Senior Subject Editors were subject editors with substantial experience (over ten years) in family law.
  • Editors emeriti (editor emeritus singular) were judges, masters and law professors with accounts and profiles on Clicklaw Wikibooks, but who were not assigned specific chapters. They were encouraged to review content overall, make suggestions to subject editors about changes to chapters, and make other recommendations to site administrators as they saw fit.

Since 2020, JP Boyd has undertaken to rewrite the resource, and subject editors are no longer tasked with the responsibility of maintaining chapters.
