Background
Legal issues can sometimes be resolved in a number of ways outside of court. Some conditions apply. Depending on your particular circumstances, you may not need to go to court. Good starting points to learn more about alternatives to court include:
- Alternatives to Going to Court. This guidebook from the Justice Education Society explains how most lawsuits filed with the court are resolved without going to trial.
- Who can help you reach an agreement? This fact sheet from the Legal Services Society explains who can help you come to a family law agreement.
- Hold on for a minute, do you really have to go to court? This section in the Clicklaw wikibook JP Boyd on Family Law outlines some issues to consider before going to court.
