The Family Relations Act, RSBC 1996, c 128 was the main law on family breakdown in British Columbia from 1972 until it was cancelled, or repealed, on 18 March 2013 when the Family Law Act came into effect. The text of the Family Relations Act as the time it was repealed is available on CanLII.

JP Boyd on Family Law provides extensive coverage of the new legislation, including a chapter on Family Law Act Basics.
