Don Kawano, QC is a senior subject editor for JP Boyd on Family Law, and is jointly responsible for the chapter on the law, courts and legal system. Don was called to the BC Bar in 1977, and practised family law for many years in Richmond before relocating to Cranbrook, where he is associate counsel with Rella & Paolini. He is East Kootenay's regional representative to the BC Branch of the Canadian Bar Association, and maintains a civil litigation and family mediation practice while doing parenting coordination as part of his collaborative law interests.
Don is a charter member of the BC Collaborative Roster Society, and a member of the BC Parenting Coordinators Roster Society, the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts. He is a director of the Cranbrook and District Restorative Justice Society, and president elect of the Cranbrook Rotary Club. |
