Irene Peters is a senior subject editor for JP Boyd on Family Law, and is jointly responsible for the pages on Property & Debt in Family Law Matters. She is a 1988 graduate of the UBC Faculty of Law and has dedicated her career to serving the northern communities of BC, from her practice in Prince Rupert until 2006, and now Prince George. She is a former adjudicator with the Employment Standards Tribunal, but now focuses entirely on family law. She is a devoted advocate for women in her northern British Columbia. Irene co-founded the Prince Rupert Women's Association, and has provided legal workshops targeting economically disadvantaged women for the Terrace Women's Association. She was awarded a Community Service Award in 2001 from the BC branch of the Canadian Bar Association.
