Under [https://www.bclaws.gov.bc.ca/civix/document/id/lc/statreg/15018_01#section25 s. 25] of the ''Societies Act'', directors may by resolution restrict a member’s rights to inspect the Register of Members if the inspection might be harmful. Harm might be where your members are vulnerable individuals or there are legitimate privacy/security concerns such as police officers not wanting their addresses public. This will be rare. This provision was considered by the Civil Resolution Tribunal in ''[https://canlii.ca/t/j6cd0 Sellers v. Kitty Cat P.A.L. Society]'', 2020 BCCRT 376.
