Abuse or Neglect of a Resident by a Friend or Relative[edit]

Staff, volunteers, or a resident’s loved one may have concerns about abuse or neglect of a resident by someone other than care facility staff; for example a friend or relative who visits or takes the resident away on outings. In that case, the concerned person can report the suspected abuse or neglect directly to a designated agency.

If the concern is about a person receiving care being unable to manage their financial or legal affairs, or that someone else is mismanaging their financial affairs, you can report it to the Public Guardian and Trustee.
