Here are frequently asked questions for contributors to the main Clicklaw website. If you are a contributor to Ciicklaw Wikibooks, see the Clicklaw Wikibooks Guide.

How do I get a contributor account?

First, you will have to receive an invitation email from the Clicklaw team or another Clicklaw contributor in your organization. Next, follow the steps in Setting up your Clicklaw contributor account & profile.

I have a new email address. How can I change the email I use for my contributor account?

You will have to create a new account. First, using your current account, send an invitation to your new email address. Next, complete the steps to set up the new account. Finally, log in with the new account and delete your old one.

I forgot my password. What should I do?

You can reset your password from the login page.

I just made some changes to a resource/service and clicked on "Publish". Why does Clicklaw still show the old version?

After you click Publish, the changes can take up to 15 minutes to appear on the website.

I deleted a resource/service, but now I want to cancel it. Can you help me restore it?

If you delete a resource or a service, it will be completely removed from Clicklaw. We cannot restore it for you. However, you can simply create a new one.

I want to hide a resource so that it does not appear on Clicklaw temporarily. How do I do that?

You may want to hide a resource from public view, if for example it is out of date and no longer legally accurate, but you are working on an update. By putting it into draft mode, you do not have to re-enter all the information about it. Simply edit it when it becomes ready for public view again.

I want to hide a location so that it does not appear on Clicklaw temporarily. How do I do that?

You may want to hide a location from public view, if for example you are moving offices and will not be in the new location for a week. By putting it into draft mode, you do not have to re-enter all the information about it and the service stays visible on Clicklaw. Simply edit the location when it becomes ready for public view again.

How do I create the image that appears next to my resource?

If a resource is available in digital format, as are most resources on Clicklaw, then one of the easiest ways to create an image is to capture an image of what is on a computer screen. If you do not have your own tool already, you can use simple, free image tools suggested by the Clicklaw team. Make sure to follow the Requirements for images for thumbnails.

If the resource is not available in digital format, you may be able to scan or take a digital photo of it.
